If you think today's students are completely self-centered, check out this video and vote by midnight on Feb. 28. Dell Computer is holding a contest with the most deserving school receiving a $100,000 prom.
However, check out what the students of Cupertino High plan to do with the money if they win - help a school in Kenya upgrade their facilities!
Cupertino is an overall wealthy area. The parents, teachers and community should be very proud that a class of students would forego a fabulous prom to help improve facilities at a school on a different continent.

In the Cupertino High students' words...
In high school, it is the norm for classes to fundraise for both junior and senior prom. However, Cupertino High School's Class of 2010 wanted to do something different. Instead of spending our time raising money for prom, we wanted to use that money to make a difference in the world. In our freshmen year, over 90% of our class signed a petition to give 100% of our fundraising to help Nthimbiri Secondary School in Kenya upgrade their school facilities. We called this project Kenya Dream.
By winning SuperProm not only will our class have a prom like every other school, but in addition we will be able to gain media attention for Kenya Dream so we can complete our goal of raising $100,000 by June of 2010 and make a difference in the world.
Together we can turn this dream into a reality...
